Sorrow Turn Song
THE STORY
A child reaches for a light that keeps moving away. The men who might become guides are pictured as lighthouses, visible for a time but never dependable enough to settle the hunger. Later, the narrator's own child's first cry breaks something open and begins to mend it at once. The song turns from searching for presence to trying to offer it. Fire, roots and growing rivers give that change a living shape. Sorrow becomes song when an experience can be carried into care rather than simply repeated. The past stays near, but it no longer gets to decide everything the next generation receives.
